⑥ The Oldest Fishing Village in Lofoten "Kabelvåg"

I still had some time so went sightseeing to "Kabelvåg," where is on the south
of Svolvaer until the check-in time. Kabelvåg is the oldest fishing village
in Lofoten so it was the base town for fishing up to the 18th century.

Arrived in Kabelvåg

So old fishing village looking !!
I wondered if boats could leave the port...

Then I saw an elderly married couple at the central square in the village.
They were super nice to take me to a secret spot that the only locals know for pictures.

On the hill, I was moved. What a wonderful scenery!!
They said, "We can view the entire village and the sea in the day and
this is also perfect for Aurora/Northern lights at night."
I can't agree MORE!!

What a fine view!!
So beautiful!!

Lofoten is called
"The Alps on the sea"

I took a picture to remember.

A big rock was between the mountains. I heard the locals calling "Heart Stone,"and loving it.

They're the locals but we could communicate because both of them were
so proficient in not only Norweigan but also English. When I'd visited Finland,
most of the Finish were so as well. 99% of the Scandinavians are very good at
not only their offcial language but English so I was always ashamed of my poor English...

They were born and raised here and just live in the otherside
of the Heart Stone. I heard the wife is a famous artist. There are
many other artists like her living there. So I was surprised Kabelvåg is
unexpectedly one of the famous villages for not only the fishing but also for arts.

At the end, we exchanged each other's e-mail adresses shaking hands and parted.
If I can be friends with them, I wanna home stay at thier place one day.

The evening came... so I went back to Svolvær.
