⑰ Very Difficult Trails at the Bitter-End

When I got back to the starting point (at the front of the sports shop), it was still at 2 p.m.
I just had a cake and a cup of berry juice for lunch but wasn't hungry because
I sometimes had emergency snacks that I prepared while taking some rest on the way.
I still had my time and strength left in me so tried the south trails of the lake next.
Let's keep going!!!!

But !! The trails which I chose this time were so difficult that they almost defeated me. They're hiking trails
in summer so had extreme ups and downs. On the way, they sometimes run uphill all the way. So hard!!

If it was just mountain climbing, it wouldn't be so hard. But it was so hard to walk up the long ascent
with the rental uncomfortable ski boots, thick and loose ski wear, and a backpack filled with lots of items......

What was worse, the trails weren't scenic routes because most of them
had a series of trees on both sides like the picture below↓↓↓
Because of the reasons above or not, there were just a few skiers who slided gracefully with advanced skills.

On the way, I picked a suitable turning point where I'd be able to get back to the lodge before dark,
and return to Äkäslompolo lake. There was a rest area at that point and I found a pretty wooden restroom.

If it breaks down while I do
business...... what to do......

There were graffitis inside.
What were these images??
Because of Finland......Moomin??

There were less ups and downs but it was long and gentle slope on the way back;
95% of my way back to the lodge ran up hill too, so my stamina almost ran out......
I sometimes got annoyed by seeing skiers who slided down comfortably in oppsite direction.
I should have headed the other way.......... and shoud do it next time!!

I could come back to the lodge about 5 p.m after all.
I was so happy with the refreshing day I had. Getting satisfactions from exercising,
having funny memories, and seeing nice views on the trails, what I experienced beat all my tiredness.
When I got to the lodge, the emergency snacks were all in my stomach. Everything WENT WELL!!!!

To be continued!!
