F Santa Claus Town "Rovaniemi"

"Santa Claus Village" would open at 10 o'clock in the morning,
so I headed for the city center to go sightseeing for a while.

But!! It was Saturday, nobody was there and no shops were open......
It was like Japan on New Years day, but much quieter. I had the town all to myself!!!!!

Now!! It was -6℃. Not cold so much.
But!! I was surprised seeing the guys with a short sleeve T-shirt. WOW!!

In the city center, "Kemi" river runs: The longest river in Finland

"Santa Claus Express"
running across Kemi river

A ship anchored on the river.
It couldn't move until about May.
(It was the beginning of March)

The bridge called "Canddle Bridge for Loggers" goes across the river.
It was made from the image of a torch and one of the symbols of Rovaniemi.

At 9 o'clock, the shops started to open and I got hungry so I went to McDonald's.
This is the former northest McDonald's in the world: Now the one in Murmansk in Russia!

Cashiers, tables, and menus... Pretty much tha same as in Japan.
In Helsinki, there were only large size menus but here, we had a regular size menus.
Garbages had a Finnish word "Kiitos." It means "Thank you!!" in English.

Now! it's time to head for "Santa Claus Village," where the real Santa Claus lives.
And then, what do you think?? Could I meet him?? What was he like?? So Exciting!!!!!

To be continued!!
