The 3rd day of my stay in Ylläs, I headed for a reindeer farm in the recess
of the mountains driving for 40 or 50 minutes. From the parking lot,
I walked into the forest and got to a small dining room in a wooden hut.
|
In there, there was a small bonfire and an old Finnish lady
called "Ally," who runs the reindeer farm around there.
She looks like a Russian local doll "Matryoshka." lol
|
At the further back of the room, I saw a reindeer trophy on the wall.
Tables, the floor, and desks... everything was made of wood!! So Lapland!!
It was my very 1st experience to be in Lappish mood. And I felt strange
warmth.
|
I used a washroom outside. It was also made of wood, and its nob was made
of
antler of reindeer. The antler looks like a branch but it was much harder
than a branch.
|
Ally, the farm owner, took me to a table and gave me a local lunch.
Bread, a pretty local wooden cup with hot berry water, and local salmon
soup...
The soup had comsomme taste so it was a bit salty and really went well
|
with soft boiled potato with many kinds of herbs. It was very very tasty
that
I had another serving. Actually I wanted to have the 3rd one
but I couldn't because I was embarrassed a little... |
Then finally, she offerd a piece of cake and a cup of hot tea for dessert.
The cake was homemade by the Ally family.
My stomach was filled with her love and warmth. I really enjoyed it.
To be continued!! |
