In my room at the lodge, I got changed in the winter wears I ranted at
Snow Fun safari.
When I went outside, the sky got much better than the last night. Good!!
Next, I went to a "Sport Shop" to rent cross-country skiing gears.
I always visit Finland at the end of Feburary, but it's the beginning of March. March
means "Ski Holiday" for people in Finland so it was very crowded.
------- Cross-Country Skiing Time!! -----
I started cross-country skiing just around Äkäslompolo lake without going
far.
The shiny sun! The clear blue sky! Pure white snow! This is the Lapland!!
I missed everything. No words can explain!!
--- The Most Famous Cafe 「Navettagalleria」 ---
It has many kinds of meals and snacks that taste awesome, and tranformed to the restaurant at night.
Just when I was taking a rest, a woman and her mother sat in fromt of me.
The woman often looked at me and gave me her smiles as if she wanted to
talk to me
everytime our eyes met. I thought the oriental people looked very strange
to caucasian people.
Oh! it just hit me that I've never seen any oriental people on any trails.
Am I the only oriental cross-country skiier there??
In the end, the lady and I started talking. She and her mother live in Germany
but her mother was Polish (Her mother couldn't speak English so she translated.)
The most interesting talk was that the German always hold a Good-Bye-Winter
Festival
for 6days in Feburary when the spring gets closer. She showed me many pictures
of the Festivals on her cellphone. It looked like the German Halloween
Festival.
Also she showed me the other pictures of the wild reindeers that she happened
to see
on the trails. She was very friendly to me. It was very interesting.
Interestingly, for some reasone, I happened to meet many Germans
like it meant to be during my stay in Ylläs. To be continued!!
