④ Wild Birds in Lapland

After the breakfast, I got changed and went to the sports shop
to rent the gears for cross-country skiing. It was 58 euros for 4 days last year.
But!! It went up to 64 euros this time!! BOOOOO!!!!!!

Started Skiing!!! But.... It was cloudy and sometime snowed from the morning,......
So I gave up to enjoy beautful sceneries and decided to leisure ski
around Äkäslompolo lake to find the best spots for Aurora/Northern Lights.

At about ten thirty, It was -6℃. It's warm when it's cloudy!!

● Wild Bird 1
I found a "white-throated dipper" on the bank of a lake.
When I stared at it for a while, a Finnish looking man skiing stopped next to me
and kindly told me that the bird is called "Koskikara" in Finnish.

And he asked, "Are you from Japan??" and I replied, "Yes!!" Then, with his nice smile,
he said, "Do you love Finland?? Have a wonderful vacation in Ylläs!!" and left me.

● Wild Bird 2
When I was standing and taking a rest after I skied into a quiet forest
from the lake, I heard machine gun sound "ka! ka! ka! ka! ka!"
I was surprised and looked up the trees wondering what the sound was.

"Up there!!"
Then I found another bird pecking the tree. It might be a woodpecker family.

---------- Light Lunch? or Snack? ----------

The lunch time came so I dropped by at a cafe nearby.

But I was too stuffed to have lunch because of
many cream puffs that I had in the morning, and also
couldn't work on my appetite because of the bad weather.

For now, I just had a bowl of veggie soup to warm myself up.
It wasn't good looking but tasted good like curry
and broken potatos gave me a nice texture. WINNER!!

But I found a rolled cake, which looked good
so I couldn't control myself and started to want to have it.
Yay!! Even though I'm stuffed, I have another stomach for sweets lol!!

To be continued!!
