3:The Most Southern Town in the World
"Ushuaia"

The buildings in the city center can compete with the ones in Tokyo city center.

We had lunch at a restaurant on the "Costanera Rafael Obligado Avenue" by "La Plata River."
Argentinian wine, meat pies, wieners, and main dish; salada and beef steak!
In Argentina, the number of cows is much more than the population of people
so the locals can eat meat anytime and any where. It costs much cheaper
than chicken. I was very surprised by the story from the local guide
and I wanted to be born here at that moment when I heard that...

After the lunch, I enjoyed La Plata river in front of the restaurant.
What do you think about the river?? Can you see it a river?? I can just see a sea from it...
Yes! As you know, this river is the widest in the world, and its width is about 275km wide!
Oh!! It's so wide that I can't see the shore on the other side, "Uruguay," across the river...

----- Headed for Ushuaia -----

We headed for tha domestic airport called "Aeroparqu airport."
We parted from Maria, the local tour guide who is the 3rd generation Japanese.
Thank you so much for the city center tour.

I flew to Ushuaia with Argentina Airline. Right after we took off,
I took a picture of La Plata river from the window. Very wide!!

Ushuaia, we headed for, isn't only the most southern town in the South American Continent,
but also in the world, so it's called "The Edge of the Earth,"Patagonia.
On top of that, Ushuaia is the base town for some tours for Antarctica.

Three and a half hours after we left Buenos Aires, we got to Ushuaia.
Unlike Buenos Aires, it was very cloudy, rainy, and cold because of the high latitude.

Hey! Look at the picture below!! It looked like in the day, but it was already 8 o'clock at night.
Because of the high latitude, the sun doesn't set until about midnight.
The tour conductor said that the sun set was about 10 or 11 o'clock on that day.

Right after we got to the hotel, we soon finished the dinner and checked in.
Yay! Time for me to clean up and relax! It was a very long time without a shower and a bed.
We had a good deep sleep for the cruise to the Antarctica. Good night!!
