7: Heading for "Denali National Park"

I had a bit of spare time to have breakfast that morning.
To my disappointment, it wasn't buffet style but tasted good!!

---@Heading for Denali National Park by Alaska Railroad@---

I left Anchorage for Denali National Park. I also got on the observation car today.

We ran along the track, like the map below. The train slowly took us
to Denali National Park as a train conductor was making announcements
and explaining each point, like the yesterday's train for Seward.

But I was depressed about the heavy-looking sky.
Then a coucasian family of five sat down around me and began to talk to me
with their warm smile. The funny talk with them soon perked me up!!

œ 150.7@"MATANUSKA RIVER"
The melted water streams down this river from Matanuska Glacier
and we can see some bears catching fish there sometimes.

œ 174.2@"LITTLE SUSITNA RIVER"
This is a famous river for lots of salmons coming back.
From May to June: King Salmon, From July to August: Red salmon.

œ 226.7@"TALKEETNA"
This town is just about middle between Anchorage and Denali National Park and also the base
for some climbers who try to climb up "Mt. Mckinley," the highest mountain in North America.

So busy with some climbers,
campers, and travellers

A small airport, the base for planes
which carries some climbers for Mt. Mckinley
to the start point on the glacier

œ 284.2@"HURRICANE GULCH"
There is the bridge, 90m high and 280m long, that lots of carpenters
had the most difficult time building, compare to other bridges
along Alaska Railroad. Such a thrilling scenery which we saw from the bridge.

The lunch time came!! I went to a dinning car with the family
next to me to have lunch. Very good for the train meal!!

œ 297.1@"COLORADO"
This was about the begining of taiga, and the ground
started to show beautiful colors of fall to us.

We would get to Denali National Park about 30 minutes later.
To be continued!!
