14: Flight Tour over the Park

I had a plan to take a flight tour above the park that morning, so had a big omelet being excited.

After breakfast, I met a driver to the cessna base at the front desk.
But!! he said, "Your flight is suspended because of the bad weather now."
Oh!!! Shit!!
After the negotiation, we decided to change my flight:at 8 a.m
to the next one:at 11, waiting for the weather to improve...
Then it started to turn out as I'd hopped for, the tour went on!

The base is located in a little north from the park center.

I had the 1st experience getting on a cessna. Unlike a commercial airplane,
it has the space for only about ten passengers. We could listen to our pilot
and ask him some questions with our headsets hanging from the celling during the flight.

As soon as we took off, he said, "We might experience some heavy shakes
until we reached for some height and the air stream got stablized." It scared me..........

The blue route, which we took this time ↓↓↓

After taking off, We could see a big river which led to some glaciers.
The pilot said, "The path you can see along that mountain
over the river is the park road!!" Which means I took it yesterday.

The view opened up more and more, and we could see a vast tundra area,
lots of rivers and lakes.
Red!!!!! Everywhere!!!!!

We got closer and closer to tall mountains, and suddenly, the cessna shook heavily.
The top of the mountains were covered with the snow even in September.

We were supposed to be able to see Mt. Mckinly nearby where we were
and could go around it, if it was clear. But thick rain clouds totally hid it. The pilot said,
"There it is, the sever stormy clouds around Mt. Mckinly, we couldn't get closer
any more, so we're gonna go sightseeing "Muldrow Glacier"and go back to the base."
What a GREAT DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!!!!

On the way bact to the base, we enjoyed the nice vast beautiful scenery again
from cessna. It was satisfing even though we coudn't get close to Mt. Mckinly!!

The pilot took a picture of me with the cessna as a souvenir at the end.
About 2 hours flight sounded so long but felt so short, and I really had a good time.

To be continued!!
