Cuverville Island is very famous for the biggest gentoo penguin colony
in the Antarctica. At the same time, lots of the Antarctica pormarine
skuas
tried to take away the penguin babies from the top of the cliffs all the time.
We saw some bones of whales on the rocky beach
when we landed. They were very similar to the human bones
so I felt that the whales are the mammal family too!
Gentoo penguins! Gentoo pengins! Gentoo panguins!
Lots of the Antarctica pormarine skuas I hate
lived there too... We saw some scenes that
the penguins and the Antarctica pormarine skuas
contrained together all the time all over the island.
There were two inlets on the both sides of the island. Some floating yachts
and the snow mountains coloured by the sun shines beautifully.... Picture-Perfect!!
We found a penguin egg. Hmm... I'm so hungry that I'm gonna have it!! Haha.
I saw an Antarctica fur seal. The tour said that they looked calm
and quiet but actually they were violent. So they came to talk to us
when we got close to them. On top of that, they were very fast.
The expedition staffs warned us, "Please keep the distance about 15m!"
So I took some pictures of it from far.
To be continued!! |
